Flower Meanings

The language of flowers, sometimes called floriography, was used during the Victorian Era through the use or arrangement of flowers. Meaning has been attributed to flowers for thousands of years, and some form of floriography has been practiced in traditional cultures throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The significance assigned to specific flowers in Western culture has varied — nearly every flower having multiple associations — and often people assign their own personal meanings.  A flower or color that might remind them of a special event or moment in their lives; but a consensus of meaning for common blooms has emerged.  Below you will find the historical meanings attributed to some of Sunshine’s most popular blooms:
