Alstroemeria, Peruvian Lily, or Lily of the Incas, undoubtedly, originate from South America. It is also sometimes referred to as the Parrot Lily. They are similar to miniature lilies and have multiple flowers on a single stem. There are many beautiful and colorful varieties that we love incorporating into our bouquets.

The Peruvian lily means friendship, devotion, mutual support, withstanding tribulations of everyday life, and following your dreams. Pink and red specifically mean affection for friends, while orange is said to keep one working towards their goals. Yellow, white, and blue alstroemeria represents concern for a friend who hasn’t been feeling well. These are perfect flowers to gift for birthdays, graduations, and more.

The Peruvian lily’s association with friendship is taken quite seriously by some believers in metaphysics. To make new friends these people always keep the flowers nearby.
